Join Our Team
A sawyer is the tradesperson who cuts the lumber. The name was chosen on purpose, and it shapes how we work. Since 2005, Sawyer Remodeling has been built around people who do the job right and let the work speak for itself. Not contractors who cut corners and hope nobody notices. Not crews who disappear between visits. The kind of people who can look a homeowner in the eye at the end of a job and say: the price we quoted is the price on the invoice, and here’s proof of every step along the way.
That’s The Relay Standard, and it’s not a tagline we hang on a wall. It’s the actual operating model. Written price before work starts. Live arrival tracking. Before-and-after photos. A digital invoice you can pay from a link. Every job, every time, no exceptions. If you’ve ever worked somewhere that promised quality and delivered something else, you’ll feel the difference here quickly.
Who We’re Looking For
- General Construction Technician – The person who reads a project plan, figures out what’s actually in front of them, and solves it without drama.
- Bathroom Remodel Installer – Someone with an eye for tile work, fixture placement, and finish details who understands that bathrooms show every mistake.
- Apprentice / Entry-Level Installer – A motivated person who’s good with their hands, willing to learn the right way first, and not afraid to ask questions.
- Lead Carpenter / Finish Carpenter – Someone who takes cabinet installs, trim work, and millwork seriously enough to slow down on the details that matter most.
- Dispatcher / Scheduling Coordinator – An organized communicator who keeps crews moving, customers informed, and the schedule from falling apart when something changes.
- Customer Service Representative – The person who can explain a written quote clearly, update a homeowner without prompting, and actually answer the phone when it rings.
What We Offer
Real Training and a Clear Path Forward
We don’t hand you a tool bag and wish you luck. Apprentices work alongside experienced leads on real jobs, building skills in sequence rather than scrambling to fake it. The path from apprentice to lead technician is defined and achievable, and we’d rather promote from within than hire around the people already doing the work well.
Work You Can Actually Be Proud Of
The materials matter here. We partner with brands like KraftMaid and Wellborn for cabinetry, Cambria and Caesarstone for countertops, Kohler and Toto for fixtures. These are products built to last, and so is the install work we do with them. When you work within a system that demands a written price, written guarantee, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise, you’re not cutting corners to make someone else’s margin work. You’re doing the job correctly, and the paperwork backs that up.
Local Crew, National Backing
Each Sawyer Remodeling location is independently owned and operated – so you’re working with a local crew that knows the region, not rotating in from a regional hub every few weeks. At the same time, being part of the Relay Home Co. family means you’re backed by systems, standards, and supplier relationships that a solo local shop rarely has. It’s a better combination than either option alone.
Steady, Year-Round Demand
Bathroom remodeling and whole-home renovation don’t go away when the season changes. Homeowners plan projects year-round, and the kind of work Sawyer takes on – jobs with written scopes, real materials, and paying clients – tends to stay fully booked. We’re not building a crew for a summer rush and letting it thin out in November.
No Experience? Read This.

If you’ve been in the trades in any capacity – flooring, painting, moving, landscaping, even warehouse work that involved measuring or building – you probably already have more transferable skill than you think. Spatial reasoning, reading instructions carefully, showing up on time, treating someone’s home like it matters: none of that is taught in a classroom, and all of it matters here.
We do the rest. New apprentices spend their first weeks on job sites with experienced leads, learning how we document work, communicate with customers, and hold to the written scope. You won’t be thrown on a solo job before you’re ready. What we need from you on day one is reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to ask when you’re unsure. The technical skills – trim, tile, cabinet installs, fixture work – get built over time, on real jobs, with real feedback.
If that sounds like a fair trade, it is.
How to Apply
Call us at (254) 272-5876 or use the application form below. When you reach out, let us know where you’re based, what kind of work you’ve done before (anything counts – don’t undersell it), and when you’d be available to start. Hiring happens locally, so your application goes to the Sawyer Remodeling location nearest you. A real person will answer or call you back.
