Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
A full Caesarstone kitchen remodel in Los Angeles typically runs $16,520 to $53,100 installed, with countertops alone landing between $2,360 and $7,670. Most Caesarstone work we handle starts because a countertop has cracked at a sink cutout, chipped along an edge, or the homeowner is tired of the old color and wants the kitchen rebuilt around a new slab. If your Caesarstone surface has failed or the kitchen has outgrown it, here’s exactly what to know before you spend a dollar.
We’re an independent remodeling contractor in Los Angeles, not a Caesarstone dealer, which means we match your existing slab or help you pick a new one without pushing one supplier’s inventory. Luca Romano, our owner, has been cutting and setting stone in LA kitchens for over two decades, and the first thing we tell every Caesarstone owner is simple: the slab is rarely the whole problem. The substrate, the seam placement, the overhang support, the sink mounting method – those are what actually determine whether your next countertop lasts five years or twenty.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone runs three main collections that show up constantly in Los Angeles kitchens: the Classic (5110 series like Frosty Carrina, 5141 Frosty Carrina, 5131 Calacatta Nuvo), the Supernatural (deeper veining, 5225 London Grey, 5121 Taj Royale), and the Metropolitan (softer, matte finishes). If you’re replacing a single failed piece, the model number is printed on the underside of the slab near a corner, usually in black ink, and it matters because color matching across production runs is imperfect. A 5131 from 2021 will not be identical to a 5131 poured in 2025.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha Angelinos run into constantly: Caesarstone slabs are typically 56″ x 120″ or 63″ x 128″ depending on the collection, and if your existing island was cut from a 56″ slab, you cannot get a seamless island top over about 55″ out of a 63″ slab without a visible seam. That’s a measurement we take before you order anything. On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: for Caesarstone specifically, there’s no meaningful aftermarket for the slab itself – you’re buying Caesarstone or you’re buying a competitor’s quartz. The aftermarket lives in the installation components: sink clips, undermount brackets, seam adhesive, edge profiles. We use color-matched polyester adhesive and mechanical undermount brackets on every Caesarstone install, because glue-only mounting is the number one cause of sink-rail cracks we see in LA kitchens, especially in older homes where the cabinet boxes have settled out of level.

Signs Your Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Crack running from the sink cutout toward the front edge. This is the most common Caesarstone failure in Los Angeles. It happens when the sink was glued directly to the quartz with no mechanical support, or the cabinet face below the sink rail was cut too thin by a previous installer.
- Chipping along the front edge within the first year. Quartz is hard but brittle at exposed edges, and a poor edge profile (too sharp a radius) will chip from a dropped pan. The fix is usually a different edge detail on the replacement slab, not a repair.
- Visible seam that has gotten wider or darker over time. Slabs shift with house movement, and Los Angeles has enough micro-settling, especially in hillside neighborhoods like Mount Washington or Echo Park, that a poorly-supported seam will separate. This tells us the substrate needs work, not just the countertop.
- Discoloration or white haze at the edges near the cooktop. Heat directly against a caulked joint or an unsupported overhang degrades the resin in the quartz. Caesarstone is heat-resistant, not heat-proof; a crackled or hazy edge near the range means the previous install put the slab too close to the heat source without a buffer.
- The whole kitchen feels dated, but the structure is sound. This is the one that drives a full remodel rather than a part swap. If your Caesarstone is fine but the boxes, layout, or lighting around it aren’t, replacing only the counter is throwing good money at a kitchen you still won’t like.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Los Angeles, you should plan on these installed ranges for Caesarstone work:
- Countertop replacement only: $2,360 to $7,670
- Full kitchen remodel with Caesarstone: $16,520 to $53,100
- Kitchen island with Caesarstone top: $3,540 to $11,800
- Backsplash to match new slab: $945 to $2,950
What moves the countertop number is slab choice (Classic colors run less than Supernatural), linear footage, edge profile, sink cutout count, and whether we’re reusing or replacing the cabinet substrate. The full remodel number swings on whether we’re refacing boxes, replacing them, moving plumbing, or rewiring. Your written quote from us includes the slab material, fabrication, old countertop removal and haul-away, sink and faucet disconnection and reconnection, and the install. It does not include surprise change orders. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice. Every Caesarstone install carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right within a year, we come back and fix it. In writing.
DIY or Call Us?
What you can safely do yourself: verify your model number under the slab, measure your existing countertop and island dimensions, check whether your sink is undermount or drop-in, and clear your counters before we arrive. What you should not attempt: removing a Caesarstone slab yourself. Quartz slabs weigh 12 to 17 pounds per square foot, so an average LA kitchen countertop is 350 to 500 pounds. A cracked slab under tension can snap the moment you relieve one support point, and the edges are sharp enough to need stitches. We’ve also seen homeowners tear the cabinet frames pulling a glued-down slab. If your Caesarstone is cracked, chipped, or ready for replacement, call us at (254) 272-5876 and we’ll come measure it properly. The estimate is free, and you’ll get a written price before any tool comes off the truck.
FAQs

Caesarstone itself will last 20 to 30 years with normal use, but the installation around it is what fails first. In our LA experience, a properly-supported Caesarstone counter on mechanically-mounted undermount sinks and level substrate will outlast the cabinets it sits on, while a bad install shows cracks within 3 to 5 years. When we rebuild a kitchen, we inspect the cabinet platform before the stone ever gets ordered. Call (254) 272-5876 and we’ll tell you honestly whether your slab is the problem or the structure under it.
A cracked Caesarstone slab can sometimes be filled and color-matched, but the repair is visible on close inspection and the underlying cause is still there. If the crack came from sink-rail stress or an unlevel cabinet, the patch will fail again. We’ll tell you straight: repairs make sense for small chips in low-visibility areas, and replacement makes sense for structural cracks. A free inspection tells you which path you’re on. Call (254) 272-5876.
A countertop-only replacement takes 2 to 3 days from template to install, because the slab has to be templated, fabricated offsite, and then set. A full Caesarstone kitchen remodel runs 4 to 8 weeks depending on cabinet lead times, plumbing moves, and electrical scope. We give you a written schedule at the quote stage, and you get photo updates at every milestone through The Relay Visibility Guarantee. Call (254) 272-5876 to get your timeline.
We don’t warehouse slabs, but we have direct accounts with Caesarstone fabricators across the LA basin and can typically source your exact color or a close match within a few days. We also work regularly with Cambria, Silestone, and KraftMaid cabinetry, so if Caesarstone doesn’t have what you want, we’ll show you comparable options with real prices on the quote. Call (254) 272-5876 and we’ll pull current availability for your model number.
If you’re in Los Angeles with a failed Caesarstone slab or a kitchen that’s ready to come back to life, call us at (254) 272-5876. You’ll get a straight answer, a written price, and a real person on the phone. Good work doesn’t need a sales pitch, it just needs to be done right.
