Mighty Buildings Fence Installation: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

Mighty Buildings fence installation in Los Angeles typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 installed, and that price includes removing the old fence section, setting new posts if needed, mounting the Mighty Buildings-compatible panels, and hauling away debris. Most owners discover an issue when a panel cracks near the anchor points or the fence starts leaning after a rainstorm softens the soil. We stock the common brackets, fasteners, and panel profiles on our trucks, so a single visit usually gets the repair done without a second trip.

One thing worth knowing up front: Sawyer Remodeling is an independent contractor, not a Mighty Buildings dealer. That means we’re not pushing a brand line. We match what you already have, or we tell you honestly if a quality aftermarket panel makes more sense than chasing an OEM part that’s been discontinued.

Which Mighty Buildings Models This Applies To

A garage converted into a guest room and home office

Mighty Buildings produces modular fence panels and wall sections that use a composite-resin composite system rather than traditional wood or vinyl. The panels come in a few standard widths, most commonly 48 inches and 72 inches, with post spacing that matters more than most homeowners expect. If the existing posts shifted even an inch, a factory-spec panel won’t seat correctly, and forcing it cracks the corners. We check post spacing first, before ordering or cutting anything.

Identifying your exact panel means checking the backside near the lower corner for a molded stamp. If the stamp is worn off, measure the panel thickness. Most Mighty Buildings fence panels run between 1.5 and 2 inches thick, which is thicker than typical vinyl fence panels. That’s the biggest compatibility gotcha: generic big-box brackets are made for thinner vinyl, so they don’t grip a Mighty Buildings panel properly. We carry deep-throat brackets sized for these thicker panels, plus stainless steel fasteners that hold up in coastal air.

Signs Your Mighty Buildings Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Leaning sections after rain. This is almost always a post issue, not a panel issue. Los Angeles soil shifts when it finally gets water after months of dry weather, and posts that were barely adequate suddenly tilt. A leaning post stresses the panel corners, which leads to cracking.
  • Cracks at the top and bottom bracket points. The panel material expands and contracts with temperature swings. In LA’s inland valleys where it hits 100 in summer and drops to 40 at night in winter, that movement is real. Panels that were installed too tightly against the posts crack at the fasteners.
  • White chalky streaks on the surface. That’s UV degradation, and it’s common on composite panels after five to seven years of direct Southern California sun. It doesn’t mean the fence is failing structurally, but the surface gets brittle and more prone to cracking if you bump it with a mower or bike.
  • Gaps opening between panels and posts. The factory brackets sometimes loosen as the composite material compresses. If you can wiggle the panel by hand, the bracket has lost its grip and the panel is now riding solely on the fasteners, which will eventually shear.
  • Bowing inward along the middle of the fence run. Wind load is the usual culprit here, especially for fences that catch the Santa Anas. A fence installed without enough mid-span support will bow over time, and once that bow sets into the panels, replacement is the only fix.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A finished backyard cottage with a small covered porch

A full Mighty Buildings fence installation in Los Angeles lands between $4,130 and $10,620 depending on linear footage, how many posts need to be reset, and access to the fence line. A short 40-foot run with healthy posts sits near the bottom of that range. A 120-foot perimeter where every third post needs new concrete footings pushes toward the top.

Every quote we write includes the panel material or aftermarket equivalent, brackets and fasteners, post-setting labor if needed, removal and haul-off of the old sections, and cleanup. You get the written price before any work starts. If we find hidden post rot once we open things up, you’ll know the cost adjustment before we touch it, not after. The work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the installation isn’t done right, we make it right within a year, in writing.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: wiggle the panels to find loose brackets, check post tops for rot or cracking, and look for the panel stamp so you can tell us what you have. Those notes save time when we arrive.

What we don’t recommend is pulling a fence panel yourself to replace a bracket. The panels are heavy, the old fasteners often snap, and if a post gives way mid-removal, you’re looking at a much bigger job than the bracket swap you started. This isn’t gas-line or electrical danger, but a falling fence section will crush toes and wreck whatever’s under it. Call (254) 272-5876 and we’ll bring the right brackets, the right fasteners, and a second set of hands.
