Franchise Investment Overview
Sawyer Remodeling has been building under The Relay Standard since 2005, and we’re selective about who carries the name forward. If you’re looking at this page, you probably want real numbers before wasting anyone’s time. That’s fair. Below are honest ballpark ranges for standing up a Sawyer Remodeling operation in a typical mid-sized market. These are planning figures, not a contract offer. Every market has different build-out costs, vehicle prices, and permit realities. The exact numbers you’d sign against come later, in writing, during qualification.
Estimated Startup Investment

These ranges reflect what we’ve seen across markets where construction pricing is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive in the country. Your city will move these numbers. A tight coastal metro runs higher on commercial space and labor. A smaller inland market runs leaner. Use this as a starting point for your own planning, not as a final figure.
| Investment Category | Estimated Range |
|---|---|
| Franchise Fee | $45,000 – $65,000 |
| Equipment, Tools & Vehicles | $55,000 – $90,000 |
| Initial Marketing & Launch | $25,000 – $40,000 |
| Working Capital (first 6 months) | $60,000 – $100,000 |
| Total Estimated Investment | $185,000 – $295,000 |
Working capital is the line item people underestimate. You need runway to cover payroll, insurance, and lease payments while your first projects move through the pipeline. A kitchen remodel invoices in stages. You have to float costs between draws. Plan for six months of thin months, and you’ll sleep better.

What’s Included
The franchise fee covers more than a logo and a handshake. Here’s what’s in it.
- Brand license and territory. You operate as Sawyer Remodeling in a defined market. No one else from our family builds under that name inside your lines.
- Training at our expense for your first crew. The Relay Standard is a system, not a vibe. We teach it in person, on real job sites, before you run your first solo project.
- Operational systems. The booking, scheduling, photo-update, and digital-invoice stack is already built. You plug into it. You don’t have to invent it.
- Launch marketing package. Website, local search setup, initial ad campaigns, and the brand toolkit. Enough to get phones ringing in month one.
- Material partner relationships. You get access to our national accounts with KraftMaid, Cambria, Kohler, GAF, James Hardie, and the rest. Better pricing than a solo contractor walking into a supply house cold.
- Ongoing support team. Operations, estimating, and marketing help after launch. You’re an independent owner, but you’re not alone.
Financing & Next Steps

Most people don’t write a check for the full amount on day one. Third-party lenders who understand construction franchises commonly finance equipment, vehicles, and sometimes a portion of the franchise fee. SBA-backed loans are a common route for qualified buyers, and some owners use a combination of SBA financing, equipment loans, and personal capital. We don’t arrange financing for you, and we don’t take a kickback from any lender. We’ll tell you what’s typical, point you toward specialists, and let you work it out on your terms.
After you submit an inquiry, the process is straightforward. You’ll get a call from our franchise development team to go over your background, your market, and your capital picture. If it looks like a fit, you’ll receive our Franchise Disclosure Document, which contains the actual fee schedule, investment ranges, and itemized breakdowns for your specific territory. Take it to an accountant or a franchise attorney. We’d rather lose a deal than sign someone who didn’t read the fine print.
The next step is a conversation, not a commitment. Call (254) 272-5876 or request the info kit below. We’ll ask about your market, your timeline, and what you’re hoping to build. No pressure. No countdowns. Just straight answers.
All investment figures on this page are non-binding planning estimates for illustrative purposes. Actual figures vary by market, territory size, and individual circumstances, and official numbers are provided during the qualification process after you’ve reviewed our Franchise Disclosure Document.
